ELECTRICAL TEST & TAG

WORKPLACE SAFETY

  •

As an employer, you have a duty of care to ensure that employees and visitors to the workplace are safe from injury. You must therefore manage any safety risks surrounding electrical hazards, in accordance with the requirements of the AS/NZS 3760:2010. You must apply a systematic risk management approach to eliminate or control the risk of electrical hazards. After the risk assessment, you can then implement a range of control measures.

The aim of test and tagging is to determine if the appliance is electrically safe for personal use. The appliance undergoes a visual inspection for defects such as damage or missing components and a number of electrical tests to measure earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity.

Businesses are required to reduce the risk of electrical shock by ensuring tools, leads and appliances are tested for electrical faults on a regular basis.

FOCUS DIGITAL SECURITY SOLUTIONS provides a range of specialised electrical testing and tagging for tradespeople, factories, schools and businesses.

Workplace Health & Safety legislation imposes a duty of care to provide a safe workplace environment.

  •

Compliance with AS/NZS 3760:2010 - Testing of items compliant with the AS/NZS 3760 standard with correct tests for each item (class I, class II, leads, powerboards, RCD’s etc.) at the frequency as defined by the standard

Reporting - Reports include concise test register, failed items register, out of service and repaired items register (as required by the standard) and a detailed asset register.

Thermal printed tags – Our tags clearly have the required information and a barcode for faster re testing in future. Each item tested is given its own unique asset i.d. number which remains with the equipment and enables a history of testing to be built up for each item in our testing database.

Colour coded tags – We can change the colour of tags each test cycle so your employees can easily identify if the test on the item is current or not (there is a range of standardised colours used to identify each different testing period). We can provide a workplace poster that us updated each visit with the current tag colour details.
